Explorer Program
Learn about our immersive law enforcement program for young adults interested in a career in public safety.

What is the Explorer Program
Since 1987, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office — through a partnership with the Boy Scouts of America and Learning for Life — has sponsored Explorer Post 2045. This program is designed for youth ages 15 to 21, offering hands-on experience with law enforcement professionals. The goal is to educate and engage young people in law enforcement operations, spark interest in public safety careers, promote community service, and foster mutual understanding between law enforcement and the community.
The Sheriff’s Office provides a supportive environment where participants gain insight into the ideals and practices of the law enforcement profession while serving both the agency and the public.
Explorer Post 2045 is youth-led, with guidance and oversight from a team of volunteer adult advisors. The program emphasizes education, real-world experience, public service, personal development, and maturity.
